Employment Type: This is a part-time salaried position that requires on-site work. The current salary range is $30,000 - 35,000 based on qualifications.
General Function: To serve as an inspirational leader and the head administrator for growth-stage and patron-based community library; to implement library policies and develop a future plan/vision for the library; and promote positive relations with all members of the library community.

- Recruit, supervise, and effectively manage library staff and volunteers

Educational Requirements: Education in Library Sciences preferred but not required
Experience Requirements: Library and nonprofit experience preferred but not required

Principle Responsibilities:
Daily Operations - Oversight includes programs, volunteer/staff management, fundraising, and administrative aspects of the organization, to include collaboration with the Board of Trustees.
Communication - Conscientious verbal, written, and visual communication to effectuate library advocacy and positive public relations with staff, board, and patrons.
Community Services - Operate the library under a philosophy of service which puts the needs of the library users first and responds to those needs in a positive, helpful, and friendly manner.
Technological Proficiency - Knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, email, Facebook, and website navigation is necessary. Capacity to obtain a working knowledge of library databases and systems.
Collection Development - The library director will be responsible for acquiring and removing library materials, overseeing the processing and cataloging of these materials, and participating in inter-library loan through the statewide union catalog.
Planning - Both financial and programmatic short and long term planning required, to include: annual budget proposals, daily fiscal activities, policy development, fundraising, and other activities to support the long term vision for the library.
